I have a love for teaching and it gives me great joy being able to teach others a skill that I have had the opportunity to learn. I began learning at the age of 4 and have been teaching since 2009. I have been privileged to see so many students discover their natural skills and abilities and reach results they never dreamed were possible. With the pandemic seeming to last longer and longer, I decided to revisit an old hobby of piano playing. I had taken piano lessons as a child so I had a decent backdrop on practical and theory skills. However, as years passed on, I stopped playing and lost a good chunk of my skills.
I approached Rosh to enquire about a refresher course on the basics of piano theory. He was enthusiastic to help me and being that it was a pandemic, he was able to deliver everything on a virtual schedule. During the initial phone call consult we spoke about my baseline knowledge - this included a verbal quiz and an assessment of a song I had played on the piano for him. Rosh then prepared an intensive 4 week in depth course on the basics of piano theory for me. Every Friday we met on a Zoom call for an hour where we undertook new lesson material and reviewed the homework that was set a week in advance. Rosh is highly knowledgeable about theory and approachable whenever I had questions. He was also available at all times if I had any questions regarding my assignments and he was diligent on reminders for completing my work.
I was impressed with Rosh’s scheduling and organization. His feedback on my work was clear, concise and helpful. His encouraging yet specific lesson planning improved my confidence and allowed me to rediscover a passion I had forgotten I had. You won’t find a more supportive piano teacher than Rosh.
